Overview
Founded in 1979, PASS is a dynamic
and diverse group of Bay Area desktop publishers, word processors, and
related support
services providers from all over the Bay Area. Our members range from
home-based to office-based; from sole proprietors to supervising employees;
from “just getting started” to over 20 years in business.
We support clients locally as well as globally, delivering services electronically.
PASS members are actively growing their businesses
in one of the most exciting regions in the nation. Many of them work directly
with such high tech leaders as Sun, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Cisco, Intel,
Microsoft, Apple, Oracle – along with many smaller companies. Supporting
clients of this caliber in the constantly changing world of technology
makes PASS an active participant in the new economy.
Goals and Objectives
- To enhance members’ personal and professional development.
- To improve skills in marketing and business management.
- To provide a forum for sharing and exchanging ideas, skills, experiences
and information.
- To expand understanding of the important and ever-changing trends
in business and technology.
- To increase public awareness of the benefits of using professional
business support services.

Meetings
Second
Saturday of each month, 10 AM – 12
noon
Typical Cost: $12 for members, $15 for non-members
The cost for special meetings like
our August and December luncheons and an occasional workshop will vary.
Meetings include networking
and a program on subjects of interest to members, usually in a roundtable
format or presentation by a guest speaker. Light refreshments are served.
Throughout the year we cover
a variety of topics on operating a successful business. Fresh ideas and
unique insights from members who are just starting out in business keep
the discussion lively and interesting to PASS's diverse membership.
Additionally, once a year we
hold an “office tour” to see how other members run their businesses.

Participation
To facilitate the smooth running of the organization, members are encouraged
to volunteer in the following areas:

Organization
PASS is a nonprofit member-driven organization. The Board of Directors
(President, Secretary and Treasurer) is elected annually and formulates
interim policies for the operation of the association.
